NEWS AND VIEWS - APRIL 2026

Still working on Hardcore. I had hoped to finish it by the end of April, but I caught a bad cold towards the end of March and couldn't do much writing for about a week and a half, and then around the end of the month I lost another week to my stupid insomnia. I did make some good progress, though, despite that, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to finish it in May. The completed book will be made available to patrons first, and then I'll probably release it as two volumes on Amazon (because it's so damn long) later this year.

I also added a bit to that Signalverse short starring Protectress. I have trouble working on more than one story at a time, though, so I don't expect to make any real progress on it until after I've finished Hardcore. But as soon as it's done I'll be assembling a collection of Signalverse shorts for publication; I think seven stories (around 55,000 words) should be enough for a first volume.

And then I'll be moving on to Masters of Million Stars, the Signalverse novel which will be my summer writing project. Looking forward to this one.

I put together a print edition of the latest version of The Complete Guide to the Signalverse this month, which came out really nice. I only made a single copy for myself, because I didn't think anyone else would be interested in this thing, especially considering the price (it was over $80), but dang, it's pretty.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this earlier, but I entered my fantasy novel Lillandra into the SPFBO contest earlier this year. I don't expect it to do very well, because 1) it's extremely long, 2) it's maybe a little too episodic, and 3) it's a fairly straightforward adventure without any really unique or exotic fantasy ideas in it, but I figured what the hell.

And that's pretty much it for writing news. Thanks, as always, for your continued support!
