NEWS AND VIEWS - NOVEMBER 2025
Another productive month. I had planned to step back from Hardcore for a while, but I wound up writing a few additional chapters anyway, just so that I'd have something for my patrons this month; I also worked on some short stories. But I spent most of November working on the new edition of The Complete Guide to the Signalverse, which I released a few days ago. As I explained in the post accompanying the release, I'm making the book freely available to everyone, so if you want to make copies of it or upload it somewhere, feel free. And tell your friends! I want people to see this thing. 
But I don't really have any interesting writing news to report this month, apart from that. My day-to-day life has been pretty uneventful, too; I don't really have anything to report there, either. Started playing a new Trails RPG, I guess, and got some reading in: a biography of Charlemagne, some One-Punch Man manga (because the third season of the anime sucks), and Triplanetary, the first of Doc Smith's Lensman books. I actually found the book kind of exasperating; Smith is constantly introducing all these crazy, unexplained gadgets that can just do anything he needs them to. It's like it was written by a hyperactive twelve-year-old who had just finished watching a bunch of Buck Rogers serials. I understand the appeal, and back in the 1940s this stuff probably seemed pretty slick, but nowadays...I don't know. Anyway, that's all I can think of right now. |
